MINERS PARTNER WITH BSCTC TO PROVIDE GAME ENTERTAINMENT

PIKEVILLE, KY. – The East Kentucky Miners professional basketball organization has announced the beginning of an entertainment partnership with the Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC) Music Program. Laura Ford Hall, BSCTC Music and Drama Director, has been named the East Kentucky Miners Director of Game Entertainment.

PITTSBURGH XPLOSION SIGN ANDREW WASHINGTON

PITTSBURGH, November 1, 2007 – Former University of Delaware standout Andrew Washington has signed a conditional contract with the Continental Basketball Association’s Pittsburgh Xplosion. Washington will take part in training camp, which begins November 5.

MINERS HEADED INTO FIRST TRAINING CAMP

PIKEVILLE, KY. – Training camp has arrived for the East Kentucky Miners, one of four CBA (Continental Basketball Association) expansion teams set to enter the 2007-08 season. The East Kentucky professional basketball team will open its first-ever training camp on Friday, Nov. 2 at the East Kentucky Expo Center. East Kentucky’s first of two training camp sessions for the opening day is scheduled for 9 a.m.-Noon.

DAREDEVILS HIRE ASSISTANT COACH

Butte, MT - The Butte Daredevils have added more depth to the coaching position this past month with the hiring of Ex-NBA 1st round draft pick, John Williams as an assistant coach for the 2007-08 season. Williams played college basketball at LSU before entering a eight year basketball career as the 12th overall pick in the 1986 NBA Draft to the Washington Bullets. After retiring from the NBA, Williams continued his basketball career in the ACB league in Spain.

Mike Dean is considered as one of the top guards in professional basketball today. The 6’4 Dean played collegiately at Middle Tennessee State University and at the University of Georgia.

ALBANY, NY (October 2, 2007) — NBA training camps opened on October 2 in preparations for the upcoming 2007-08 season. All 30 NBA teams have Continental Basketball Association alum competing for roster spots or have coaches staffing the sidelines. Seventy-Eight players and coaches who are CBA alums overall are in camps with three players from last season alone.
